John Piccarreto As Cover Story Interview – February 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is John Piccarreto.  I am a Los Angeles Based Actor, producer and creative marketer.  I have been fortunate to be featured on many Television, Film, commercials and Music Videos.  As a side hustle I am a casino dealer for multiple casino event companies throughout Southern California; which has benefited my acting career in being  cast in a feature film, a Long Running Soap Opera and a commercial.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

It’s hard to call it a hardship but I guess the hardship was me watching the suffering that my mother had to go through. After my mom had a stroke we made the decision to bring her home and live with us which was very challenging because of the requirements for her care and at 40 years old to have a curfew of 8 PM every day to relieve the caregiver was quite challenging. But I’m extremely grateful for my family my children and my spouse to pinch hit and make this all possible. We are blessed to have my mom for 10 more years after taking that responsibility.

What do people usually not know about you?

That I used to own a bakery in upstate New York and I was also the first person to wear a sumo suit and sumo wrestle in the United States, on live television against Regis Philbin on the Regis and Kathy Lee show back in 1991.

What sets you apart from others?

I never give up, I learn from my mistakes and willing to go above and beyond to achieve success. I also believe in paying it forward whenever possible.

What are your upcoming major events?

I am looking forward to my soap opera debut and airing in September.  I’m also starting rehearsal this week for the lead in an independent short film and in negotiations for a vertical film that will be filming internationally and looking forward to be part of the Vertical Expo taking place in Los Angeles later this year in June.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Always work on your craft, connect with workshops and classes that help you advance and achieve your goals. Surround yourself with actors who have the same vision and drive and collaborate with them.  Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you, create your own opportunities that will lead to eventual opportunities that will come to you.  Network, Network and Network as much as possible. When the time is right, start interviewing agents and feel comfortable with before signing. Don’t just believe they are interviewing you, be sure you have your needs written down as not to lose focus, because you are also interviewing them. Lastly, never be scared.
