Joanna As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Joanna, and I’m an actress with an international background. I grew up near Florence, Italy, and completed my acting studies in London. I’ve also lived in New York and Los Angeles for a bit, and all this moving around shaped me a lot both as a person and as an actress. I often gravitate toward confident and action-driven characters. I started training in stage combat and recently started practicing kickboxing as well, which contribute to make me more confident in the roles I play.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

I’d say carving my own path without much support or connections in the beginning. Nobody in my family works in film and I often felt misunderstood and pushed in directions that didn’t belong to me. I ended up in the wrong environments many times with people I had little in common with. But once I learnt to trust my instincts and my own voice, everything shifted. I slowly built my network, fellow actors and creatives many of which are amazing women and everything started to blossom. So find your tribe! And the rest will follow.

What do people usually not know about you?

People often assume I’m tough because of the characters I play or maybe it’s just my face but in real life I love softness, slow mornings, and flowers. My favorite color is pink, and I’m a total princess in my private life. I love reading about psychology and the human mind, and I even took a course in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also enjoy making textured art as a hobby.

What sets you apart from others?

My resilience. I don’t quit and I learn and learn until I become competent at something I wanna do. I believe we can truly be anything we want. Especially as women we are often told we need to choose between career, love, family.. Sometimes some sacrifices are necessary, but they should be temporary. You can have depth, ambition, softness, courage..

What are your upcoming major events?

I’ve recently wrapped on a dramedy series that will be released next year, and I’m attached to two upcoming features. One in action and one in the adventure-horror world. I can’t share more yet, but I’m excited for what’s coming.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Celebrate your uniqueness, especially the things people once made you feel too much or not enough for. Real happiness comes from living in alignment according to your own values not to fit someone else’s expectations. And for women, stay soft where you want to be soft, and powerful where you want to be powerful. Celebrate your contrasts!
