How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Jeremy Slade. I go by my last name, Slade, in public. I am the co-owner and designer of JEANNETTE & SLADE, a handmade jeweled leather exclusive brand.
Struggle – What difficulties have you encountered in life?
In the beginning, it was difficult trying to find a look that would please everyone. Now, as a brand, we focus on what we want to show, and if people like it, then they like it. In life, do what makes you happy. You can’t please everyone.
What is not known about you?
Most people do not know that I am a military veteran of the United States Army.
What distinguishes you from others?
Our JEANNETTE & SLADE brand supports economic upliftment, both locally and abroad. We do not plaster our company name all over our merchandise like a walking billboard. Instead, we let the beauty of our handmade jeweled leather merchandise speak for itself.
What are your upcoming major events?
Our JEANNETTE & SLADE merchandise has recently been featured on the Oscars and Grammys red carpets. We will also be featured on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
What expert advice would you like to give?
It is better to have a greater purpose behind what you are doing in your business, beyond just yourself. It is too easy to quit on yourself when times get rough. However, when you have others who depend on your success, it pushes you harder to succeed, not only for yourself but for everyone. It is a rewarding experience when everyone succeeds as a result of your hard work and dedication to the process.
