How do you introduce yourself?

Hi! My name is Irene. I am a wife, mother, singer & songwriter who spent two decades focusing on family life but since the love for music has never left me, & now that my children are older, I now have the opportunity to continue to pursue my journey in music with my family by my side.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

The biggest hardship was honestly the decision to come back after all this time. The insecurities that come with being away for so long…how people will receive you. Will they still remember you? Will they still like you, your music & your voice now? Do you still have what it takes, the list goes on…but with my family’s support, I can honestly say thanks to them, they gave me the courage to follow my dreams. I would not have been able to do it without them.

What do people usually not know about you?

Most people don’t know I love to cook. I enjoy creating my own recipes and making things from scratch.

What sets you apart from others?

For me personally, I never compete or compare myself to others. The only competition I have is with myself. Always trying to be the best version of myself every day. I stay true to my beliefs and always put 100% into everything I do.

What are your upcoming major events?

The major focus right now is the release of my comeback EP, which we’re currently working on set to release next month. This project is the culmination of the old & new version of me. I’m very excited about the “re-birth” of Irene.

What expert advice would you like to give?

The advice I can give, particularly to anyone feeling ‘too old’ or ‘too late’ to follow a dream, is this: ‘Don’t confuse stability with stagnation, and the only time it’s too late is when you stop believing.’ If you had to put your passion down for life’s necessities, that is not a failure; it is wisdom. The passion you set aside doesn’t die; it only matures. When you come back to it, you bring all your life experience with you, and that makes your art better. So, start today. Start right where you are. Just start because you’re never too old to follow your dreams…just know that they are there for a reason.
