I’m Eleni Doucas, a filmmaker passionate about crafting meaningful stories. In “Exodos,” I took on the roles of writer, director, and producer, allowing me to shape the film’s vision from inception to completion. This multifaceted involvement enabled me to oversee both the creative and production aspects, ensuring Hayley’s story was authentically brought to life.

Exodos is your new short film. Can you tell us about the genesis of this story and what the film is about?

“Exodos” was born from my reflections on personal growth and the courage it takes to change one’s circumstances. The film follows Hayley, a young woman torn between her life with a band of thieves and her desire for something more meaningful.

What sets you apart from your colleagues in the industry and in life?

I was born and raised in Venezuela but my whole family is from Greece, with this blend I bring a unique cultural perspective to my work, enriching my storytelling with diverse influences. This heritage, combined with my background in both film and business, sets me apart. It enables me to manage the creative process while navigating production practicalities, ensuring my projects are artistically fulfilling, culturally resonant, and commercially viable.
