How do you introduce yourself?
I introduce myself as Elani Kay. A Mother, Business Owner, Life Coach, Author, & Philanthropist.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Not one single person alive has not had any hardships to endure I’m sure, so I usually look at life like we’re going through character building, or learning life’s lessons by experiencing some speed bumps. Once we make it over, I believe it’s important to share relatable stories with others, to help them through similar situations. I’ve been a full time single Mom raising three sons, I’ve lost my Grandma who I was close to, I was a victim of domestic violence, I was a victim in criminal court, had my life threatened publicly, targeted by various people who I will not name, falsely accused, victim of false rumors spread about me, lost and left a business, & have endured the challenge of financially being able to provide for my three sons on my own.
What do people usually not know about you?
People usually do not know that I’ve been through the above when they meet me. They only learn after reading things similar to this about me. It’s a common pre-judgment upon just looking at me they wouldn’t think I’ve been through really much in life.
What sets you apart from others?
As an Asian American woman from the Bay Area in California, I have a deeply rooted down to earth way about myself. I’m very honest and genuine and have a deep care for other’s well being.
What are your upcoming major events ?
My company CEITA TV, in partnership with CIE Magazine is hosting some amazing events like “Hollywood Live” June 7th at 6508 Hollywood Blvd and on June 8th, BET Raw Uncut Experience by Raw Nation Ent at the Epic Icon Center with special guest performers Fatell & Hazel. My other company “Talent Agency Guide” is always sharing with you what’s going on in the industry providing resources and tools for aspiring and working actors. What expert advice would you like to give?
Let go of fear. Nothing is certain, but fear is mostly because we don’t know what’s going to happen. Fear, anxiety, stress is not necessary to produce results that you can control. Not everything is in our control, so the things we cannot control, you must let go and accept, and the things we can control, do your best to make quality choices to produce the best outcome. When you let go of fear and replace it with preparation, confidence, faith, self-love, then every effort moving forward will make sense and have meaning, even if things don’t go exactly as you had imagined. The point is, if you try, you’re already ahead.
