Dona Wood As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
Hi, I’m Dona Wood. I’m a versatile actor with a background in theater, television, and indie film. I bring energy, authenticity, and a love for storytelling to every role I play.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Early in my career, it was really tough to land roles. Over time, I started booking commercials more consistently, which eventually led to bigger roles in television and Indie films. During the slower periods, I made it a point to keep learning, taking classes, expanding my skill set, and exploring new things, so I could grow and be ready for the next opportunity. That experience taught me patience, determination, and the importance of taking proactive steps to create continued opportunities in my career.
What do people usually not know about you?
Most people don’t know that after graduating from ASU, I spent a summer training at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England. That experience really shaped me, and after completing the program, I moved to Los Angeles to continue my acting career. When I’m not acting, I love exploring the ever-evolving world of interior design and architecture.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my focus on the slight edge. I work to make every character feel authentic and real, but I also know it’s that extra nuance, the slight edge, that can make a role truly mine. That edge only reveals itself once I’ve done the work, then it just shows up naturally.
What are your upcoming major events?
Currently, I’m focusing on developing new projects and continuing to grow my skills, both in acting and in my personal interests. It’s an exciting time to explore creativity, take on new challenges, and prepare for opportunities that lie ahead.
What expert advice would you like to give?
My advice is to keep learning and experimenting, whether it’s with your craft or hobbies. Growth comes from curiosity, practice, and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. Learn new things along the way, it helps build both your confidence and your skill set. And most importantly, enjoy your life while working toward your acting career. Create meaningful experiences, because they lead to depth of self-discovery and will ultimately support your work as an actor.
