Christine Hotchkiss As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Christine Hotchkiss, and I am a woman whose life experiences have shaped the person people have come to know today. I am a mom of two, and throughout my journey I have embraced many roles that allow me to connect with, inspire, and support others.

I am among 20 inspiring women of The 2025 Women of Chandler in the Chandler Lifestyle Magazine, I work as an actress, public speaker, and currently serve as the Community Outreach Chair for the Chandler Business Alliance Foundation. My passion for storytelling expanded in 2019 when I was introduced to the film festival industry. What began as a new opportunity quickly became a true love for film and the creative community surrounding it. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving as a Q&A host and event emcee, engaging with filmmakers and audiences and celebrating the powerful stories that film brings to life.

I am also the Chair of Membership for the Phoenix Screenwriters Association, where I help support and grow a vibrant community of writers and creatives. In addition, I host the YouTube podcast Stories of Hope, where I share conversations that highlight resilience, inspiration, and the power of the human spirit.

Community involvement is incredibly important to me, and I actively seek opportunities to support local nonprofit organizations and initiatives that make a meaningful difference. I truly believe that life presents us with countless choices, opportunities, and experiences, and I strive to show up as my best self each day—with integrity, a bit of silliness, and a willingness to learn from everything life offers.

Above all, I aim to lead with love, kindness, and respect for every person I meet.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

One of the greatest hardships in my life began on New Year’s Day in 2007 when my family was involved in a tragic auto accident. My 17-year-old daughter, Nicole Brown, passed away from her injuries. The years that followed were incredibly dark as I navigated the unimaginable loss of my child.

Through my healing journey, I created a retreat designed for people facing loss, struggles, or life-changing experiences, offering a space for healing, self-love, and rediscovering purpose. This journey also led to the opportunity to portray myself in the award-winning feature film Fortis Femina, inspired by the retreat and filmed in Sedona, Arizona. The experience became another step in my healing while honoring my daughter Nicole and continuing to build a legacy of hope and resilience.

What do people usually not know about you?

Something many people may not know about me is that my childhood was shaped by difficult circumstances. Growing up with a single mom raising three children, I experienced domestic violence and times of being displaced, which required me to grow up much faster than most children. By the age of seven, I had already begun to see life through a very different lens.

Those early experiences, while challenging, taught me compassion, resilience, and the importance of viewing others without judgment. They shaped the way I move through the world today—with patience, empathy, and understanding not only for myself, but for everyone I meet.

What sets you apart from others?

Because of the struggles I have overcome, I wake up every day with the desire to live with a burning passion for life, not allowing the different chapters of my life to define me. I always look past who I am to help others be the best version of themselves, whether it is a non-profit or to be intentional as a positive wherever I show up.

What are your upcoming major events?

At this current moment I am involved with 3 separate feature films as either an extra or crew, FACADE, episode 2, presented by Glow Frame Initiative, R.E.M Director and producer John Martinez, and V.E.N writer, producer and actor Ofelia Abiad, (awaken your full potential).

Being involved in the film industry since 2019 starting with festivals, red carpet & theater interviews, it is with great honor that I am attending my first Oscar viewing party at the Luxury Gala in Hollywood Sunday, March 15th. Super excited!!

What expert advice would you like to give?

Working in the industry of end life and seeing people at what feels like their worst day having to plan the celebration of life for their lives ones, I leave you with this….

“It is not what you leave others, rather it is what you leave within them that makes you memorable”.
