Chloe Champken was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Chloe.

How do you introduce yourself?
Chloe Champken is a British-born actor and director living in New York. She recently co-founded, a new British Theatre company called Crowded Space with co-founder Michael Reid, something that New York has been missing up until now.
Chloe’s love of story-telling as an actor has allowed her to smoothly transition into the director’s chair. Her recent directing credits include The Rainmaker at the Court Square Theatre where her ability to produce a tear-jerking performance from her actors is outstanding. Back in November, she directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream, showing her versatility and understanding of Shakespeare that she executes with great expertise.
Her favorite piece to date was the fully staged production of ‘Dreams on 81’ written by the up-and-coming playwright Gabriel Drax, who she co-founded the theatre company Devious Minds with. This play enjoyed a sold-out staged reading back in November 2023, was workshopped with LAbrynth Theatre Company as part of their summer series, and then enjoyed a sold-out run in November 2024 at The Secret Theatre. Chloe poured her heart into this piece as the Director and in doing so, created a breath-taking production proving herself to be a Director of the highest skill.
With Conservatory training from both Stella Adler Studio in New York and Trinity Laban in London, Chloe continues to bring mastery to any role she undertakes, whether that is on stage or from the Directors chair. She looks forward to all the exciting new possibilities coming her way.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
When I was young, my teachers were struggling to cope with all the extra energy I had and finally I found a way to channel it productively which just so happened to be an afterschool Theatre class, and the rest is history. I found a love for performing and story-telling, and this quickly became the thing I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
What sets you apart from others?

My need to be busy! I hate standing still. I am at my happiest when I’m collaborating.
What are your upcoming major events?
The debut production for Crowded Space is Tim Crouch’s ENGLAND which premiered Saturday 05/03 at the Amos Eno Gallery in Manhattan. Chloe, Michael, and Antonio Cocuzza are taking the stage in this heartfelt and thought-provoking play. I continue to bring a grounded performance, capturing the audience with my honesty in this play. I am also thrilled to be performing with Ensemble Shakespeare Company for their production of Julius Caesar this May where I’ll be playing Metellus and Cicero, as well as another project with them this summer.
What expert advice would you like to give?
You can sleep when you’re dead! Grind until you can grind no more!
