Belinda Gon As Cover Interview Story – June 2024 Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I am Mexican but have lived in the USA for 20 years. I am Happily Married for 29 years, I have two sons and two dogs. I am a preschool Teacher, I love little humans.
Childhood to Adulthood – How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?
I had a joyful childhood, playing outside until late and caring for my little sisters. We were a regular middle-class family. I grew up in Monterrey, Mexico; I love that city, the energy, the kind people, the food.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I had the typical transition to adulthood; some days were good, others not that much, but with a wise and supportive Mom who is one of my greatest loves, a lovely, strong, and hardworking woman who is for me until now anytime. I grew up with Mom, Dad (who traveled five days a week), two brothers, and two sisters, a typical middle-class Mexican family with everyday struggles but so much love and support.
What do people usually not know about you?
People are usually surprised when they discover I am Mexican and always say: you look Moroccan, I thought you were Brazilian, You look South African, which is very funny to me.
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
I am a Preschool teacher; I believe if you give a child love, patience, and structure, they grow with better confidence and reach better opportunities. I love to create an impact on their lives.
What are your upcoming major events – Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform?
I am 51 years old; I survived a Lupus diagnosis, Breast cancer, and an almost-passed two years ago with pneumonia. I am unique in weird illnesses and conditions, but I love to live and will continue fighting. In September 2024, I will graduate from Cancer and have a big party to celebrate life!
What are your food preferences and physical attributes?
I love Mexican food; I am an outstanding chef (that is what people said 😉), but I also like Japanese and Caribbean food. I love to travel, sleep, dance, and go to the beach!
What expert advice would you like to give?
Live and enjoy your life, don’t get distracted by superficial matters, love those who love you, and worry about problems you can fix; if you can not fix, just keep swimming, and you will get to your perfect place. Be you no matter what. You are unique and perfect as you are.
