Amy Johnston As Cover Story Interview – June 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Amy Johnston. I’m an Actress, stunt woman, and director for film, TV, and video games. 3rd degree black belt/ lifelong martial artist.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I would say my major injuries and surgeries really taught me a lot and forced me to rethink, focus and take care. I tore my ACL right before my biggest movie and first starring role which definitely broke me a bit but I pushed through and worked really hard after the surgery to come back and I was able to film that role.
What do people usually not know about you?
I’m shy at first and then very wild and weird. I love anime and video games. I’m a nerd for sure.
What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart as far as in this industry is that I’m unassuming. I’m soft spoken and very gentle but I am a very feisty martial artist and action performer. Being feminine and strong at the same time is my strength.
What are your upcoming major events?
My film Pay Homage is releasing later this year which I’m very excited about. It’s a horror thriller that I star in with an incredible writer/director Sean Crayne and a stellar cast! I also have several video games I’m in that are releasing this year!! My short films I directed will also be released.
What expert advice would you like to give?
I actually created a book for this! It was very difficult for me to get into this industry and so I wanted to create something to help others with insight and information. My book, How to Stunt in Hollywood, is available on Amazon: (link unavailable). Overall advice I would give is to continually work on yourself to become a more full person.
