How do you introduce yourself?

Amol Deshmukh: I am Amol Deshmukh, a versatile artist and educator from Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. With a deep-rooted passion for creativity, I have excelled as a lyricist, singer, painter, and educator, each role adding unique dimensions to my artistic persona.

As a lyricist, I possess the ability to craft mesmerizing melodies by weaving heartfelt words together. My compositions draw inspiration from my surroundings and personal experiences, creating songs that deeply resonate with listeners. I take great pride in my copyrighted works, which reflect my genuine and authentic expressions through music.

In the world of visual arts, my talent as a painter has been widely recognized. I have garnered acclaim and prestigious awards for my artwork, and I am the proud founder of “Amol’s Art Gallery,” an institution dedicated to nurturing artistic talent and promoting the vibrant world of paintings.
Education is another facet of my career where I have made a significant impact. Currently serving as the Principal at Nagpur Institute of Technology, I bring my expertise and dedication to shaping young minds and creating a conducive learning environment. With a Ph.D. in Engineering and a management course on “Strategic Management,” I possess the academic background to provide holistic guidance to students.

Throughout my journey, I have been honored with various awards and accolades, including the “Idols of Maharashtra – Working Professionals” award and the “Excellent Teacher Award.” These recognitions highlight my unwavering commitment to excellence in both the educational and artistic spheres.

Childhood to Adulthood – How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?

Amol Deshmukh: During my transition from childhood to adulthood, I experienced significant personal and professional growth, overcoming challenges and embracing new opportunities. As a child, I was known for being shy, and my primary focus was on excelling in my studies. I was a sincere and dedicated student, always striving for academic excellence.

One of the good things I remember from this period is my consistent success in academics. I worked hard and achieved remarkable results, which laid a strong foundation for my future endeavors. My commitment to learning and my diligent approach to my studies shaped my disciplined work ethic and prepared me for the challenges that lay ahead.
However, during this time, I didn’t initially pay much attention to my passions for singing and painting. It was only later in my career that I started nurturing these talents. Recognizing the importance of artistic expression, I made a conscious effort to explore and develop my skills in singing and painting. This shift allowed me to embrace the multidimensional aspects of my personality and tap into my creative potential.

While I may have missed out on fully exploring my artistic talents earlier, the journey of self-discovery and the subsequent pursuit of my passions have been transformative. Through dedicated practice and a deep love for music and art, I have grown as a singer, painter, and artist. These endeavors have enriched my life, allowing me to express myself in unique ways and connect with others through the power of music and visual art. My transition from childhood to adulthood involved a journey of self-discovery and the cultivation of my passions. While I initially focused on academics and shyness hindered my exploration of singing and painting, I eventually recognized the importance of these creative outlets and pursued them with dedication. This transformation has shaped me into the multifaceted artist and educator that I am today.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Amol Deshmukh: Throughout my journey, I have faced various hardships that tested my resilience and determination. In the early phase of my career, I was fully committed to my work, dedicating long hours and pushing myself beyond my limits. However, this relentless pursuit began to take a toll on my physical health.

As a result, I went through a severe state of illness that included a cardiac arrest. It was a challenging and frightening experience that required immediate medical intervention. I underwent an angioplasty procedure to restore proper blood flow to my heart and regain my health.

This period of struggle taught me the importance of balance and self-care. It made me realize that while passion and dedication are crucial, it is equally vital to prioritize my well-being. I learned to listen to my body, manage my workload more effectively, and make time for rest and rejuvenation.

Overcoming this hardship not only strengthened my physical resilience but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for life and its fragility. It reminded me of the importance of taking care of myself, both physically and mentally, and valuing my health above all else.

Through this challenging experience, I emerged stronger and more determined than ever. It served as a powerful reminder that life’s obstacles can be overcome with perseverance and a positive mindset. I now approach each day with gratitude, cherishing the opportunities that come my way and prioritizing my well-being as I continue to pursue my passions.

What do people usually not know about you?

Amol Deshmukh: Apart from being recognized as a talented singer, there are several aspects about me that people usually do not know. Firstly, I am an accomplished painter and have received accolades at the national level for my artwork. This passion for painting allows me to express my creativity and explore different forms of artistic expression.
In addition to my painting skills, I have also delved into the realm of writing lyrics. I find joy and inspiration in crafting meaningful and captivating words that resonate with listeners. This exploration of songwriting has allowed me to express my emotions and thoughts in a unique and artistic way.
Furthermore, I am a proud Fellow Member of the Screenwriters Association of India. This membership signifies my involvement in the world of storytelling and my commitment to honing my skills as a creative writer. Being a part of this esteemed association provides me with opportunities to collaborate with other talented individuals and expand my knowledge in the field of screenwriting.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

Amol Deshmukh: What sets me apart from my competitors in the industry and in life is a unique combination of diverse talents and a relentless pursuit of excellence. While many individuals may possess skills in one specific area, I have managed to excel in multiple domains. I am the multitalented artist and Principal at Nagpur Institute of Technology.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I have also nurtured my artistic abilities. As an accomplished painter, I have been fortunate enough to receive national-level awards for my artwork. This passion for art led me to establish “Amol’s Art Gallery,” an organization dedicated to promoting paintings and art-related activities in the region. I am also a professional lyricist and singer, with copyrights for many of my songs. You can find my musical compositions on my YouTube channel, where I love to share my talent with a wider audience. My covers has lacs of plays on various platforms, with 50K monthly listeners, I can only say I’ve never felt such love from my listeners and everyone who has supported me through my ups and downs in life.
In the realm of engineering and technology, I have made significant contributions. With three international patents in the area of Brain Machine Interface, I have explored innovative solutions and shared my research findings through over 150 international conference and journal publications. Additionally, I have authored books and book chapters, and I am proud to have mentored several research scholars, with seven of them completing their Ph.D. under my guidance.

My involvement as a Technical Committee Member of Soft Computing-IEEE USA and my role as an International Co-Chair for an international conference reflect my global recognition and engagement in the field. These opportunities have allowed me to collaborate with experts worldwide, expanding my network and contributing to the advancement of the field.

But my creativity doesn’t stop there. I have a deep passion for painting, songwriting, and composing music, which allows me to express myself in unique and meaningful ways. These creative endeavors add another layer to my persona and showcase my multifaceted talent. I believe that my exceptional blend of expertise, artistic talent, recognition, research contributions, and dedication to education sets me apart from my competitors. I am driven by a constant desire for growth, innovation, and making a positive impact in all areas of my life.

Amol Deshmukh: As an author and artist, I am excited to announce my upcoming major event—a book that encompasses all my paintings. This book is a culmination of my artistic journey, featuring a collection of my most cherished and significant works. Amol Deshmukh: I am Pure Vegetarian.

Amol Deshmukh: Blessed with talented kids, son-Soham and daughter- Amolika. My strengths are my Parents, Brother- Anand, Sisters and wife- Suwarna.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Amol Deshmukh: As an artist, musician, and educator, I would like to share some expert advice that has been instrumental in my own journey:
Follow your passion: Identify what truly ignites your soul and pursue it with unwavering determination. Whether it’s art, music, or any other creative pursuit, let your passion be the driving force behind your endeavors.

Embrace continuous learning: Never stop learning and expanding your knowledge. Seek out opportunities to grow, whether through formal education, workshops, or self-study. Stay curious and open-minded, as there is always something new to discover.

Embrace failure and perseverance: Don’t be discouraged by setbacks or failures along the way. Instead, view them as opportunities for growth and learning. Keep pushing forward, even when faced with obstacles, and let perseverance be your guiding light.
