Ellory Grace As Cover Story Interview – October 2026 Magazine Edition

New Single: “GUM” — October 23, 2026

Here is the Q&A session we had with Ellory Grace.

How do you introduce yourself?

Hi! I’m Ellory Grace. I’m 17, and I’m a singer-songwriter who also loves acting. I’ve been working in entertainment since I was little, starting with modeling and acting, but music has become the place where I get to share a side of myself people don’t always see. I write about growing up, relationships, and all the complicated feelings that come with being a teenager. I love storytelling in general, whether that’s through music, acting, or something completely different. I think I’m still figuring out exactly who I am as an artist, and that’s part of what makes it exciting.

How have your personal experiences influenced the music you write?

Being a teenager is complicated. You’re trying to figure out who you are while everyone seems to have an opinion about who you should be. I’ve definitely experienced that.
I’ve also grown up in two pretty different worlds. I’ve spent years working in entertainment, traveling for modeling and acting, and then coming home and going to regular public school. I think having those different experiences has given me a lot to write about.
Songwriting is where I can take feelings I don’t always know how to explain and turn them into something. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s a little sarcastic, and sometimes it’s something I didn’t even realize was bothering me until I started writing about it.

What’s something about you that people would never guess from your social media?

I think people sometimes assume I’m super confident and outgoing because I’ve grown up in front of cameras, but I’m actually a pretty big overthinker. I can be completely comfortable on a set or in front of a camera and then spend twenty minutes overthinking a text message.
I think people also assume that if you’ve been doing something since you were little, you must have everything figured out. I definitely don’t! I’m still learning as I go, and I think that’s probably true for most people, whether they admit it or not.

What sets “GUM” apart musically and lyrically from your previous releases like “Seventeen Years” and “In Between”?

I think “GUM” has a little more attitude! A lot of my previous songs have been pretty introspective. “Seventeen Years” is about my relationship with anxiety, and “In Between” is about feeling stuck between where you are and where you want to be.
“GUM” is different because there’s more frustration and sarcasm behind it. It’s about reaching that point where you’re just done with someone, but somehow you’re still dealing with the mess they left behind.
Musically, it’s a little more playful and bold, especially with the layered vocals. I wanted it to feel like that moment when you’ve finally had enough and you’re not interested in pretending otherwise.

Your new single “GUM” drops on October 23rd—what specific themes or stories are you aiming to highlight for your listeners with this release?

The whole idea came from thinking about how annoying it is to get gum stuck in your hair. It’s such a stupid little thing until it happens to you, and suddenly it’s impossible to ignore.
I started thinking about how some people are kind of like that too. You can be completely over someone and still have to deal with everything they left behind.
I wanted to capture that feeling of being frustrated, a little fed up, and ready to move on. It’s not really a heartbreak song. It’s more about the aftermath, when you’re already done with the person but still stuck cleaning up the mess.
And I love that the metaphor is a little ridiculous, because sometimes those situations really are.

“GUM” dives into the frustration of being done with someone who still lingers in your mind. What advice would you give to listeners trying to navigate that exact situation?

I think the biggest thing is realizing that just because someone is still on your mind doesn’t mean you want them back.
Sometimes you’re not missing the person. You’re just frustrated by what happened or how they made you feel. And I think it’s okay to acknowledge that without letting it pull you back into something you’ve already decided to leave behind.
Also, maybe don’t give someone unlimited space in your head when they’re not even paying rent!

You’ve released several original songs this year. What’s next for you, and what can fans look forward to as they follow your journey?

I feel like I’m still at the beginning of figuring out my sound and who I am as an artist, which is honestly one of the most exciting parts. Every song I’ve released has shown a slightly different side of me, and I think that’s going to continue as I grow.
I’ve been writing and recording a lot, and there are definitely more songs and surprises coming. I love sharing little pieces of the process, whether that’s something I’m working on in the studio, the story behind a lyric, or just random moments from my life.
I think the fun part about following an artist early is getting to grow with them. I’m excited to see where all of this goes, and I’d love for people to be part of it!
