How do you introduce yourself?
I am known as Hawk The Bouncer, also known as The Voice of Reason. Those names were earned, not given. I am a self-published author, entrepreneur, owner of the clothing line JovialMood, protector, father, and grandfather. Each name represents a chapter of growth in my life.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I’ve lived many lives in one lifetime. I battled alcohol and addiction, I hustled, I sold drugs — I lived a fast, dangerous lifestyle. Deciding to grow up and walk away from that was my hardest battle. Overcoming that taught me discipline, humility, and real strength, especially after becoming a father and grandfather.
What do people usually not know about you?
People see the bouncer, the size, the presence — but they don’t see the mind and heart behind it. I’m an author, a creator, a listener. People have always come to me for advice. I write, I build, and I genuinely care about helping others grow.
What sets you apart from others?
I speak from lived experience, not theory. From the streets to sobriety, from the door to fatherhood. My code is simple: When you stop learning, you stop growing — and I refuse to stop growing. I’m not perfect and I will fail, but I strive every day for perfection because the strive itself makes me better.
What are your upcoming major events?
I am currently in a full rebrand. I am relaunching my clothing line JovialMood alongside my self-published books, with new releases coming soon. I am focused on growth — motivational speaking, hosting, brand collaborations, book signings, and community events. I am becoming more than who I was, and I’m open for bookings now.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Never let your past be your prison. Your past is a lesson, not a life sentence. Keep learning, keep growing, and be consistent. You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
