Ryan Meeker As Cover Story Interview – August 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Ryan. Some people know me as Doozy. One little girl knows me as Dad.

A lot of people first heard about me after I stepped in during a dog attack to help save a young boy. That story traveled around the world and has now been seen over a billion times across social media.

I thank God I was in the right place at the right time. I just did what I believed was right, and I hope anyone would’ve done the same.

Do the right thing. Help your neighbor.

Beyond that moment, I’m a father first. I’m also a DJ, music producer, entrepreneur, and creator who’s spent more than a decade building something I believe in.

Different chapters. Same person.

I’ve always been me.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Some of the hardest battles I’ve fought are the ones nobody sees.

I’ve had to rebuild. I’ve dealt with uncertainty, setbacks, personal battles, and situations that forced me to learn in ways I never could’ve imagined.

Fatherhood has probably taught me the most.

I don’t get every day with my daughter. That’s exactly why I don’t take the time I do have for granted. I’ve learned that being a father isn’t measured by how many days you have—it’s how present you are in the days you do.

Through everything, I’ve tried to stay grounded. I don’t let one great moment define me, and I don’t let one hard chapter define me either.

At the heartbeat of it all is my daughter.

Through everything, her Daddy has always loved her, and I’ve always been there.

What do people usually not know about you?

I’ve spent more than a decade building the Doozy project and chasing a dream through music—late nights, small rooms, big stages, wins, losses, and everything in between.

I’ve had the opportunity to open for artists I’d never heard of before and others I grew up listening to.

But more than anything, I’m a creator and a connector.

Music, brands, businesses, ideas—my brain is always building something.

The world may have found me overnight.

The foundation took years.

What sets you apart from others?

I’ve never really believed there are different versions of me.

Ryan. Dad. Doozy.

It’s the same person.

The guy behind the decks, the dad spending time with his daughter, the entrepreneur up late building something, and the person who stepped in that day during the dog attack—they’re all guided by the same thing:

Love.

I didn’t have time to think about cameras, attention, or what anybody would say. I was there, and I did what I believed was right.

I’ve always been me. More people are just watching now.

And if this platform gives me the opportunity to leave people, places, or the world a little better than I found them, then that’s exactly how I want to use it.

What are your upcoming major events?

Honestly, this feels like a beginning.

I’m putting a lot of energy back into Doozy—new music, live shows, performances, and creative projects—while continuing to build the incredible community that’s grown around fatherhood and everyday life.

I’m also dedicating a lot of time to some new business endeavors.

For a long time, those parts of my world felt separate.

Now they don’t.

Music. Fatherhood. Content. Business. Creativity.

It’s all finally starting to connect.

I’m not chasing another viral moment.

I’m building something that lasts.

What expert advice would you like to give?

I don’t really consider myself someone who has all the answers. I’m still figuring life out too.

But I’ve learned that character isn’t built in the big moments.

It’s revealed by them.

It’s how you show up when nobody expects anything from you. It’s what you do when there’s no time to think about how it’s going to look. It’s how you treat people, how you show up for the people you love, and whether you’re willing to do what you believe is right.

One ordinary decision can change a life.

Mine did.
