Paromita De As Cover Story Interview – June 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Paromita De, and if I had to describe myself, I would say I am someone who genuinely cares about people and the quality of the work I leave behind. I have always believed that success isn’t just about personal achievements, but about how well you lift up the team around you. I try to bring a calm, positive energy to my work environment every day.
Childhood to adulthood transition?
Transitioning from childhood to adulthood was a deeply grounding experience for me. As a child, I was fortunate to have a supportive environment that allowed me to dream freely and view the world with optimism. Moving into adulthood meant taking the steering wheel of my own life, which brought a shift from being cared for to taking responsibility for myself and others.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
One of the greatest hardships I faced growing up was experiencing severe bullying, not just from other children, but at times even from adults. Going through that at a young age was incredibly painful and isolating. However, looking back, navigating that adversity is exactly what shaped my character and core values today.
What makes you unique?
What makes me unique is that I truly travel to the beat of my own drum. I have never been someone who follows the crowd just to fit in, nor do I allow outside opinions to sway my core values or dictate my path. Instead, I rely on my own integrity and moral compass to guide my decisions. This independence gives me the confidence to speak up about what matters.
What do people usually not know about you?
“A lot of people might not know this about me, but I have had a deep passion for creative writing for a very long time. Back in high school, I spent a lot of my free time writing poetry, and I have always held onto a quiet dream of writing a book one day.
What sets you apart from rest?
I am also a high school science teacher. Stepping into a classroom every day has uniquely shaped my professional skill set. It requires me to take incredibly complex, technical concepts and break them down into simple, engaging, and accessible information for diverse learners.
What are your upcoming major events?
I am hosting upcoming virtual storytimes and participating as an author in the Phictly Global Digital Book Festival. Locally, I am bringing stories directly to the public through farmers market storytimes and intimate book signings at neighborhood coffee shops. I am also working on a second book.
Food preferences and physical attributes?
I am a vegetarian, and I love all kinds of cuisine.
Your love life and family?
I am a mother of a 9 year old son, and I am happily married to my husband for 15 years.
What expert advice would you like to give?
If I could offer any advice , it would simply be to honor your passion.
