March 2026 Magazine Edition | Unapologetically Herself: Tiyasa Rahman’s Journey to Empowerment

How do you introduce yourself?

Hi, I’m Tiyasa Rahman — a lifestyle influencer, content creator, and unapologetic lover of curves, culture, cuisine, and travel. I’m a business graduate from India who believes beauty comes in every shape, shade, and story. Whether I’m sharing saree looks, travel diaries, food adventures, or just real-life vibes, my goal is to empower others to embrace their authentic selves with confidence and joy.

What’s one struggle you’ve overcome in life?

Like many of us, I’ve faced my share of challenges. Growing up, I dealt with body-shaming comments that made me question my worth for years — society often pushes a narrow idea of beauty, and breaking free from that took time and self-work. Balancing academics, family expectations, and building a personal brand wasn’t easy either; there were days of self-doubt, late nights editing content, and moments when growth felt painfully slow. But every setback taught me resilience — I learned that my value isn’t defined by likes, followers, or fitting a mold, but by showing up authentically even on tough days.

What’s something people usually don’t know about you?

Most people see the glamorous photos and confident captions, but they don’t know I’m actually quite introverted at heart. I recharge best in quiet moments — reading a book, cooking alone, or planning my next solo trip. I’m also a huge food nerd; I can spend hours experimenting in the kitchen recreating regional Indian dishes or fusion recipes. And here’s a fun one: I still get nervous before posting certain photos, even after years of creating content!

What sets you apart from others?

I think it’s my commitment to realness in a filtered world. I celebrate dusky skin, natural curves, and cultural roots without apology. I mix high-fashion poses with everyday Indian life — sarees on city streets, street food dates, monsoon moods — and I speak openly about body positivity, mental health, and self-love. My content isn’t just pretty pictures; it’s stories that make people feel seen, especially women who look like me and haven’t always seen themselves represented positively.

What are your upcoming major events?

I’m excited about a few things in the pipeline! A bigger travel series exploring offbeat spots in India and maybe Southeast Asia later this year. Collaborations with local brands on sustainable fashion and body-positive campaigns. Potentially launching more in-depth reels/workshops on content creation and self-confidence for aspiring creators. And a personal milestone: shooting a dream editorial project that’s been in the works — stay tuned, it’s going to be special!

What expert advice would you like to give?

My biggest advice: Stop waiting to feel “ready” or “perfect” before you start. Whether it’s posting your first photo, starting a side hustle, or speaking up — just begin. Imperfection is part of the journey, and the people who connect with you most will love you for your realness, not your polish. Also, protect your peace: curate your feed, unfollow what drains you, and surround yourself with voices that lift you up. Self-love isn’t selfish — it’s the foundation for everything else.
