Sonya Miller (Aka Sunny Miller) was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and here is the Q&A session we had with Sonya.
Sonya Miller As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Sonya “Sunny” Miller, the face behind Smills Media. I’m a media personality, publicist, and storyteller at heart. I specialize in helping brands, creatives, and entrepreneurs get seen, heard, and positioned the right way.
Everything I do is rooted in purpose and real connection. I’m big on building relationships, creating opportunities, and making sure the people I work with are represented with intention and authenticity.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I’ve faced my share of hardships, but one of the biggest was losing my brother, Antonio Miller. That was a life-changing moment for me. It broke me in a way I can’t even fully explain, but at the same time, it woke something up in me.
My brother played a huge role in shaping who I am. The love we had, the lessons, the bond, it never left me. After his passing, I had a choice to either stay stuck in that pain or find purpose through it. And through God, I found the strength to keep going.
That loss pushed me to move differently. It made me more intentional, more driven, and more focused on walking in purpose. Everything I do now, I carry him with me. His spirit, his energy, it lives through me, and that’s a big part of why I go so hard in what I do today.
What do people usually not know about you?
A lot of people don’t know that I’m actually pretty reserved. I can be outgoing when I need to be, especially in media and networking spaces, but I really value my quiet time and protecting my energy through yoga & meditation.
People see the brand, the connections, and the work I do, but they don’t always see the discipline and thought that goes on behind the scenes. I’m very intentional about how I move, who I align with, and what I put my name on.
I’m also big on growth. I’m always learning, always evolving, and making sure I’m becoming a better version of myself, not just in business, but in life too.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my authenticity and how I genuinely connect with people. I’m not just here to network, I build real relationships. I take the time to understand people, their story, and their vision, and I move with intention in everything I do.
I also come from the ground up. I’ve been on both sides, being the talent and working behind the scenes, so I understand the business in a different way. That gives me an edge when it comes to branding, media, and positioning.
Most importantly, I move with purpose. I’m not chasing trends or clout. Everything I do is calculated, meaningful, and aligned with who I am. And people can feel that, it’s real.
What are your upcoming major events?
One of the things I’m most excited about right now is continuing to grow my work with my client, Christopher Dubose. We’ve been connecting with some amazing people and opportunities, and it’s been incredible to see his vision come to life while I help guide the media and branding side of things.
Recently, both of us had the honor of attending the 2026 Academy Oscars Red Carpet Luxury Gala in Universal Studios, CA.
It was an unforgettable night, full of red carpet vibes, celebrities, meaningful connections, and inspiration that fuels the work we’re doing next.
Looking ahead, I have several exciting projects and collaborations in the works, all focused on storytelling, media, and building platforms that elevate creatives and brands. It’s going to be a big year of purpose-driven work.
What expert advice would you like to give?
The advice I always share is this: know your purpose and stay true to it. So many people chase fame, trends, or what looks “cool” on the outside, but real success comes from within being aligned with who you are and the impact you want to make.
Also, build real relationships. The media, entertainment, and business world moves fast, but connections based on trust, respect, and authenticity last. Take the time to learn the craft, put in the work, and don’t be afraid to start from the ground up, it all adds up.
Lastly, trust the process and trust God. There will be setbacks, but everything you experience is shaping you for your bigger purpose. Stay consistent, stay humble, and stay focused.
