Blanca Rigau As Cover Story Interview – February 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Blanca Rigau, and I come from two very different worlds: the pharmaceutical industry and basketball. Although my professional journey began far from the fashion industry, it ultimately guided me back to where my true passion has always lived. Today, I proudly define myself as a fashion designer, model and social activist committed to preventing bullying in schools. My work fuses the discipline I learned in sports, the scientific precision gained through my academic and professional background, and the creativity and emotional expression that fashion allows me to explore. Every collection I create carries intention and soul. My identity and my brand are built upon my core values: authenticity, respect for diversity, sustainability, social responsibility, and a deep commitment to people. Each collection reflects who I am as a woman, as an entrepreneur, and as an activist. For me, fashion must have conscience and heart; it must empower, tell stories, and honor the unique essence of every individual.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

One of the greatest challenges I faced was experiencing bullying at a very young age. Those moments left deep marks—shaping insecurities, selfdoubt, and the painful feeling of not belonging. Growing up believing that your voice doesn’t matter, or that there is something wrong with you simply for being yourself, is an experience that can stay with a person for years. But over time, I learned to transform that pain into purpose. Basketball taught me discipline, strength, and resilience, while fashion became my voice—a way to express who I truly am beyond judgment or limitations. The combination of both worlds helped me rebuild my confidence and reconnect with my essence.

My own experience with bullying is what drives my commitment today. I want to inspire children and teenagers going through similar situations to believe in themselves and keep moving forward. I strive to give them the tools I didn’t have at the time—reminding them that hurtful comments do not define their future. I encourage them to cultivate good values, focus on their dreams, and understand that while physical appearance changes, what truly matters is the strength and beauty within. For me, growing up feeling out of place was heartbreaking, but it also shaped the woman I am today. Now, I use my platform to create a space of empowerment, authenticity, and support. My message to the world is simple yet powerful: real beauty lies in being true to yourself, and your scars can become the very force that propels you forward.

What do people usually not know about you?

Many people don’t know that even with a strong scientific background, including a degree in Biotechnology and a Master’s in Pharmacology and Neuropsychology I pursued fashion primarily as a selftaught designer. I later expanded my artistic training with a course by Diane von Furstenberg, handson creative work, and the prestigious Reimagine Textile highperformance program at TecnoCampus Mataró, which allowed me to bring innovation into the textile industry. My scientific mindset continues to influence the way I design: organized, intentional, structured, and deeply analytical. Another aspect people rarely know about me is that I am a perfectionist to the core: meticulous, detailoriented, and very particular about everything I do. I hold myself to extremely high standards, which can sometimes make working with me challenging, but it also ensures that every project reflects excellence, authenticity, and purpose.

I’m also someone who creates in the moment of inspiration. When an idea appears, I feel an urgent need to bring it to life immediately. I genuinely believe that the perfect time to create is the exact moment the idea arrives, otherwise, the spark might fade or the idea may never materialize in its full essence.
Something else most people don’t expect is that I love exploring fields completely outside of fashion. I’m currently developing some projects in different industries, projects that require enormous dedication and countless hours of hard work. I can’t wait for the moment when I can share them with the world. And perhaps the most surprising fact of all: I continue to work in a pharmaceutical company while simultaneously being a designer and a social activist dedicated to preventing bullying. Balancing these roles is demanding, but it reflects who I am: someone driven by purpose, curiosity, and the desire to contribute meaningfully across multiple disciplines.

All these layers, science, creativity, discipline, perfectionism, intuition, activism, and endless curiosity come together to shape the person and professional I am today.

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart is that Blanca Rigau is not just a brand—it is a movement born at the intersection of science, sport, and art. My creative identity comes from this rare fusion: the analytical precision of science, the discipline and resilience of sport, and the expressive freedom of art. I design pieces that go far beyond clothing. Each creation is crafted to express identity, emotion, and inner strength, becoming a form of emotional armor for the person who wears it. My commitment to empowerment, inclusivity, and authenticity is at the heart of everything I do.

I blend timeless elegance with avantgarde innovation, working with sustainable materials and crafting personalized designs that reveal the essence and inner power of each individual. My fashion is exclusive yet fully inclusive—embracing all sizes, ages, and ethnicities so that everyone can feel extraordinary.
Every collection tells a story. Every piece is created to empower. My mission is to connect with those who, like me, dare to push boundaries, challenge the norm, and continually reinvent themselves.

What major events have you attended recently?

This past February 14, I had the honor of attending one of the most defining events of my career: receiving the Ibero-America Business Excellence Award 2026 in the Fashion category. The ceremony took place at the Hotel SB Diagonal Zero in Barcelona and gathered influential leaders, institutional representatives, and professionals from across the IberoAmerican community. This recognition celebrated my ongoing commitment to a fashion movement built on inclusion, sustainability, human values, and genuine social purpose. During the event, I delivered an emotional message about the transformative power of fashion—how clothing can protect vulnerability, awaken inner strength, and serve as a tool for both personal expression and social healing. I dedicated the award to everyone who has faced bullying or selfdoubt, encouraging them to trust their worth, pursue their dreams, and remember that our essence is what truly endures.

In addition to this achievement, last year I was honored with the Europe Award for Social Commitment in Madrid 2025, a milestone that marked an important step in my mission to use fashion as a force for meaningful change. That recognition strengthened my resolve to continue expanding my brand internationally while promoting authenticity, dignity, and emotional empowerment within the industry.
Both milestones—last year’s Europe Award and this past February’s IberoAmerica Business Excellence Award—have shaped my journey profoundly. They reaffirm my vision of fashion as something that must have conscience, soul, and the power to transform lives.

What expert advice would you like to give?

My expert advice is simple yet powerful: rebuild yourself as many times as necessary. Reinvention is not a weakness—it is one of the greatest strengths you can develop. Your background, no matter how unconventional, can become your greatest competitive advantage. Break through every internal barrier you may have created at some point in your life. Many of the limits we face come from within, shaped by past fears, insecurities, or moments when we were made to believe we were not enough. Let go of those doubts. Allow yourself to grow beyond them.

Be disciplined like an athlete, analytical like a scientist, and expressive like an artist. These three dimensions—strength, clarity, and creativity—are the foundation for achieving anything meaningful. Above all, stay loyal to your essence. The world needs people who design, lead, and create with authenticity and purpose. Persistence, determination, and passion will take you further than talent alone ever could. Entrepreneurship—like any ambitious journey—is filled with challenges, but it is also rich with opportunities to evolve and shine. Move forward with courage, trust your vision, and remember that every small step brings you closer to everything you dream of becoming.
