Sham Ibrahim, AKA Drag Queen ‘Lady Sham’, was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and here is the Q&A session we had with Sham.

How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Sham. My full name is Sham Ibrahim and I’m a Drag Queen so I also go by Lady Sham. I am an artist, a comedian, an actor and I’ve appeared on some pretty well known reality tv shows like Mtv Catfish and Judge Steve Harvey. I also do a Drag Queen Bingo show twice a week at the Hood Bar and Pizza In Palm Desert CA. I perform solo and my show is a mix of stand up comedy, singing, bingo and the people who play win prizes including artwork by me.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I think the biggest hardship overall has been the struggle to be myself in a world where I don’t necessarily fit in. I am transgender and that wasn’t always and still isn’t totally accepted on society. Also, I left home very young (at 17) and I’ve struggled a lot financially through the years. I’ve dealt with all kinds of obstacles but I never let anything stand in my way and I never give up.
What do people usually not know about you?
I think people assume I don’t work hard. There is a misconception that being a Drag Queen on stage is just all fun and games. Entertaining people is hard work, especially in a world where people have very short attention spans from living their lives online. Also with live entertainment where there is second chance. Unlike with film and television you cant do a second take if I mess up which makes it exciting and gives room to be creative, but it’s challenging.
What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart from others is my creativity. I was always like that even as a child and I had a very wild imagination. That has helped me in my art and comedy. I think my work has a unique quality where it feels like it’s exclusive to me and can’t be replicated.
What are your upcoming major events ?
I am working on my Podcast which will premiere on my new You Tube channel, “Lady Sham Show”. I have already taped multiple episodes and have finished editing the first episode but I am NOT putting it out until I get 100 subscribers on the channel! Also, I just taped a segment for a HUGE reality tv show on a major cable network set to come out in May! Stay tuned to my social media for more information when I am allowed to talk!
What expert advice would you like to give?
The best advice I can give is NEVER GIVE UP and as long as you are alive and living on this earth it is never too late to make your dreams come true. Also, the best person you can be is YOURSELF. Never try to be anyone but YOU.
