Queen Kebz As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition
Introduction
My name is Makeba Sandiford, also known as QueenKebz. I am 32 years young, born and raised on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago, and now proudly residing in the United States. I’m a caring, understanding, humble, and considerate person at heart. Family means everything to me—I have four sisters and one brother, and I’m the second child and the first daughter.
Professionally, I am a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a business owner. I currently run both a vending machine business and a medical courier service in the U.S. My next big goal is to open a nursing home dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality elderly care. I truly believe the sky is the limit, and I’m committed to creating opportunities, uplifting others, and building a legacy I can be proud of.
What Hardships Have I Gone Through in Life?
Growing up, life wasn’t always easy. My mother, Jillian Ackee, was a single parent raising six children—five girls and one boy. She struggled to make ends meet, but she never gave up on us. No matter how hard things got, she always put herself last to make sure we were fed, educated, and well taken care of.
There were days when we had nothing to eat, and she would go out and hustle just to bring home a meal. And on nights when we went to bed hungry, she would wake us up as soon as she found something—anything—for us to eat. Her strength, her sacrifices, and her love held us together through every hardship.
My mother is a strong, phenomenal woman, and she will always be my idol and my queen. Everything I am today is because of her. Now that I’m grown and building my own success, I make sure she receives a monthly allowance so she can live comfortably and enjoy the things that make her happy. It’s my way of giving back to the woman who gave me everything, even when she had nothing.
What People Usually Don’t Know About Me?
I am a certified instrumentation and control technician. A lot of people don’t truly know my heart. I love helping others because I understand what it feels like to go without—what it’s like to struggle, to not always have enough to eat, and to fight for a comfortable life.
Most people only see the calm, successful version of who I am today. They see the finished product, not the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the hard work, or the challenges I had to overcome to reach the finish line.
What many don’t realize is that no matter what I’m going through, I always keep a smile on my face. I give even when I don’t have, and I’ve given my last more times than I can count because helping others is part of who I am.
I’m a true go-getter—when I set my mind to something, I make it happen. And I’m very observant. I pay attention to people’s actions because they reveal who a person really is.
These are the parts of me that many don’t see, but they shape exactly who I am today.
What Sets You Apart From Others?
What sets me apart is that I don’t live to please the world. I’m not here to follow the crowd or fit into anyone’s expectations—I’m a leader, not a follower. I embrace who I am fully, and I’m unique in my own way.
Most importantly, I love myself, and that self-love gives me the strength, confidence, and courage to walk my own path, make bold decisions, and shine in my own lane.
What Are Your Upcoming Major Events?
I have some major milestones on the horizon. In 2026, God’s spare life, I’m looking forward to becoming a homeowner, a dream I’ve been working hard toward.
I’m also preparing to open my own Home Health Aide agency, a step that brings me closer to my long-term vision of providing quality care for those who need it most.
In addition, I plan to expand my vending machine business, focusing on offering a variety of Caribbean snacks and beverages that represent my culture. I’m also working on growing my medical courier business into 20 additional states across the U.S.
These goals mean a lot to me, and I’m committed to putting in the work to bring them all to life.
What Expert Advice Would You Love to Give?
The best advice I can give is this: never let your struggles define you—let them shape you. No matter where you come from or what you didn’t have, you can build the life you dream of with consistency, discipline, and faith.
Stay focused on your goals and don’t worry about pleasing the world. Move with intention, not validation. People will only see your success, not the sacrifices behind it—so don’t depend on approval to keep going. Surround yourself with good energy, stay humble, and always be willing to learn. Even when you don’t have much, give with a pure heart, because blessings return tenfold.
And most importantly: love yourself, trust yourself, and bet on yourself. When you believe in your own power, there’s absolutely no limit to what you can achieve.
