Emilie Rimmer As Cover Story Interview – October 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Emilie Rimmer, and I was born and raised in a small town just outside Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. When I was sixteen, I moved to Indiana as an exchange student to learn the language and experience a new culture. A year later, I followed my passion for acting and moved to Los Angeles to study at one of the world’s most prestigious acting schools — The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. I’ve now lived in Los Angeles for the past eight years with my incredible husband and our sweet dog, Jonah, in a townhouse we absolutely love. My journey in acting started when I was just three years old, and since then, I’ve worked on a variety of projects in both Denmark and the U.S. from theater and television to commercial and music videoes. Acting has always been a huge part of my life, and it continues to be something I feel deeply passionate about. I’m a very outgoing, happy and positive person, and I love to challenge myself and take on new adventures any day!
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
One of the greatest challenges I face every day is living on the other side of the world from my home. Not a day goes by that I don’t deeply miss my family and friends in Denmark, the distance can be incredibly painful at times. Despite the struggle, I am endlessly grateful for the unwavering support, understanding, and love I receive from everyone back home. I know I wouldn’t be able to pursue my dreams and live the life I have today without the encouragement of my parents and grandparents. For that, I will be forever thankful. However, it isn’t always easy. Life abroad is not always a dance on roses. I often miss out on the most precious and irreplaceable moments in my family’s lives, moments that mean the world to me. Missing my brother’s wedding and the announcement of his first child were especially hard. I also miss spending time with my grandparents, whom I love deeply, and it pains me to know that time continues to pass while I’m away. Living far from home has taught me resilience, gratitude, and the true value of family. Though it’s difficult, it reminds me every day why I work so hard to make this dream worth the distance.
What do people usually not know about you?
Something many people don’t know about me is that I’m a certified makeup artist and hairstylist, a passion that holds a special place in my heart. I love the creativity and freedom it gives me to transform ideas into something beautiful or even terrifying. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on everything from the Danish Music Awards to zombie makeup on movie sets in Los Angeles. Although my main focus today is acting and social media, this creative side of me often takes a back seat. Still, I hope to soon find more time to return to set work, both in front of and behind the camera, and reconnect with that artistic part of myself.
What sets you apart from others?
One thing that truly sets me apart is my ability to listen. I’ve always been the friend people turn to for advice, not because I have all the answers, but because I genuinely care. Being a good friend means everything to me, and I take pride in being someone who shows up, supports, and listens with an open heart. I’m naturally bubbly, outgoing, and enthusiastic about life. I approach everything I do with energy, love, and determination. But what really defines me is the courage and drive I’ve had since I was young. At just 15 years old, I moved alone to a new country where I didn’t know a single person and didn’t even speak the language. Taking that leap taught me resilience, independence, and the value of hard work. Looking back, I know that my younger self would be over the moon to see how far I’ve come , and that’s something I’ll always carry with pride.
What are your upcoming major events ?
Recently, I started a small company called Doodle & Drama with my wonderful friend Mina, who is an incredibly talented art director and artist. Together, we host birthday parties for kids and offer free art classes in the park every Sunday. We teach children both art and acting, helping them build confidence, make new friends, and let their creativity run free. It’s something very close to my heart, and I’m so proud of what we’re creating in our little community. It fills me with joy to see all the happy faces and the pride the kids feel when they take their masterpieces home to show their parents.
What expert advice would you like to give?
I’ve learned through my journey that it’s so important to believe in yourself and to be proud of what you do. You are your own person, so never compare yourself to others. Everything takes time, and even if you don’t succeed right away, keep fighting and working hard for your dreams. It’s okay to slow down, enjoy life, and not be too hard on yourself.
