Michelle Ford As Cover Story Interview – November 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I’m a podcast host, radio presenter, midlife panellist/moderator and columnist with a passion for sparking honest, entertaining conversations around midlife and beyond. I host the popular podcast for midlife women, Two Women Chatting, where I interview celebrities, authors, and experts on everything from wellness to reinvention. I’m also a presenter on Brooklands Radio, where my shows blend music, lifestyle, and topical chat – including my Book Club segment, where I interview top authors for the stories behind the stories.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

One of the hardest things I’ve been through was losing my father suddenly when I was ten. It completely changed the course of my childhood. My mum was left trying to cope emotionally and financially, and I had to grow up quickly. We didn’t have much, and life felt very uncertain for a while. But in many ways, that experience lit a fire in me. It taught me self-reliance and resilience – that if I wanted something, I had to find a way to make it happen. Looking back, I can see that’s where my survival instinct came from, and probably my entrepreneurial streak too. I learned early on how to spot opportunities, make things work, and stay positive even when circumstances weren’t.

What do people usually not know about you?

I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and not many people know that. It has been both a curse and a superpower that I think feeds my creativity but also frequently means I tune out of ‘boring’, am very clumsy and have total time blindness. It also means that I can be sensitive to comments and feel an ‘imposter’ to my successes.

What sets you apart from others?

Good question! What sets me apart is that I don’t just talk at people – I connect with them. Whether it’s through my radio show, podcast, or writing, I approach every conversation with genuine curiosity and empathy. I’m passionate about using my voice to open up honest discussions that make midlife women feel seen, valued and inspired – without the jargon, filters or fluff. I’ve built a career around creating safe, smart, and uplifting spaces where women can laugh, learn, and share real experiences – from menopause to reinvention, from loss to joy. I hope that I can draw out stories that others might miss, and I think that’s where my real strength lies.

What are your upcoming events?

We’ve got some big changes coming to the radio station that I will be involved in – under wraps at the moment! But I’m looking forward to sharing those soon.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Be yourself not a second rate version of someone else. Learn to embrace what is unique and special about you instead of focussing on what you might think are weaknesses or flaws.
