How do you introduce yourself?
I’m a bit of a mutt who loves to burrow into many different fields. I’m Neil Seeman—an entrepreneur, author, academic, and publisher on a mission to decode the often messy, exhilarating stories behind why leaders do what they do. Beyond running a publishing house, I merge data with storytelling to spotlight the “quiet revolutionaries” shaping our world without the usual fanfare.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Navigating the rollercoaster of starting and scaling a public tech company taught me firsthand how closely mental health and entrepreneurship are intertwined. Beyond market volatility, I’ve wrestled with unpredictable and vicious panic attacks throughout my life—silent battles often unseen but deeply jarring.
What do people usually not know about you?
Most people are surprised to learn I started out in law. My path hasn’t been linear—I’m driven by curiosity as much as ambition, always crossing disciplines to uncover fresh ways to illuminate the entrepreneurial mind’s unique challenges and superpowers.
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
I don’t just talk about entrepreneurship—I get under the skin of what fuels it biologically and psychologically. Championing entrepreneurs who aren’t flashy but relentlessly authentic, I craft narratives that go beyond typical success stories to focus on resilience, integrity, and lasting impact.
What are your upcoming major events?
My latest book about entrepreneurial mental health, Accelerated Minds, was just published in Japan as Entrepreneurship Addiction by Toyo Keizai. I recently co-founded EPS, an educational program providing tools and resources for values-based, first-time entrepreneurs who aim to give back to their communities. Through Sutherland House Experts, we’re pioneering a creator-friendly cooperative model to amplify thoughtful nonfiction voices that might otherwise go unheard.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Success isn’t just about grit and growth; it’s about grappling honestly with your mental model. Prioritize your well-being as fiercely as your business goals—because sustainable impact flows from authentic, balanced leadership.
