How do you introduce yourself?

I’m Lily, 20 years old, and I moved from Armenia to Los Angeles four years ago. I work as both a photographer and a dental assistant while also studying in college. Photography gives me a way to be creative and free, while dentistry teaches me focus and precision. Even though they’re very different, together they show the balance of who I am—both artistic and detail-oriented.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Moving to the US was one of the biggest changes in my life—I had to build everything from zero. At first, I began working in a dental office, which was unexpected for me, but it shaped my path and it gave me a lot of valuable experience and direction. For a long time, I had the thought of starting photography, but with work and classes, I never gave myself the chance. Later, when I left my job, it was a stressful period, but that’s what finally pushed me to pick up the camera. What began as something relaxing quickly turned into a passion and eventually a profession. Now, for two years, I’ve been balancing both dentistry and photography. It’s a challenge, but also a joy, because I get to grow in two very different paths that both make me happy.

What do people usually not know about you?

A lot of people say I look younger than my age and see me as always smiling and kind, which I am—but what they don’t always see is how strong and determined I am inside. I love taking risks, stepping out of my comfort zone, and proving to myself that I can do what I set my mind to. I also play piano, enjoy drawing portraits, and have many creative sides that I don’t always show. And through everything, I stay connected to God, trusting His guidance in each step of my life.

What sets you apart from others?

I don’t give up easily. If something doesn’t work out the first time, I try again until I make it happen. I always remind myself: if someone else could do it, I can too. And if no one has done it yet, maybe I’ll be the first. That mindset keeps me motivated and moving forward no matter what.

What are your upcoming major events?

I’m really excited about two big events coming up! On September 12, I’ll be part of the Echoes of Our Ancestors Armenian cultural performance—an amazing opportunity to celebrate and honor my heritage. Then, I’ll be heading to New York for Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026, which I’m thrilled about—it’s such a beautiful way to connect with people and creativity. I’m also working on a very special music video and concert project, but I’ll keep that as a surprise for now. You’ll see it all soon on my page, and I can’t wait to share it! Through everything, I feel so grateful to God for these opportunities and the chance to grow, meet inspiring people, and live out dreams I once only imagined.

What expert advice would you like to share?

Don’t be afraid to take risks. I always believe: you only truly lose when you don’t try. Even if you try and it doesn’t go as planned, you still win—because you dared to take that step. Every experience, success or not, teaches you something and brings you closer to your goals. And most importantly, listen to yourself and your heart. People may doubt you or try to slow you down, but stay focused and keep moving forward. Trust your path, stay consistent, and believe in yourself. For me, my faith in God is what gives me strength and clarity. I always feel that He guides me in the right direction, and that gives me confidence to keep going with hope and positivity.
