How do you introduce yourself?

I’m Jackie, aka Jackie the Poetic Therapist, a multidisciplinary creative from the Bronx, NYC. I’m a mental health clinician, educator, social worker, poet, writer, lyricist, and curator who shows up fully, led by love, purpose, and poetry.

What hardships have you gone through in life?

I’ve faced storms like single motherhood, depression, anxiety, and navigating the world with ADHD. But I’ve learned to make space for myself, honoring my flow and protecting my gift.

What sets you apart from others?

I’m always me, no mask, no performance. I move in rhythm with my spirit, grounded in my values and God’s word. I don’t conform; I express. I don’t blend in; I show up.

What people usually don’t know about you?

I’m witty, funny, and full of heart. I write every day, committed to empowering lives through my words. Music is my heartbeat, and I’m deeply educated by life, academia, and grace.

What are your upcoming major events?

I’m working on publishing my first book of poetry, a children’s storybook, and co-creating a podcast. I’m also collaborating on powerful projects with artistic brothers and expanding my health and wellness program for seniors. My poetic dream is to perform live at Poetry Me Please’s biggest showcase.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Stay true to who you are, heal what hurts, and use discernment wisely. We are all creatives at heart; be the muse, inspire others, and allow yourself to be inspired. Never give up!
