How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Kati Gyselinck, Travel Designer and Lifestyle Entrepreneur, and the founder of Adventura by Kati. I help women who are ready for a change design unforgettable travel experiences that spark joy, freedom, and confidence. After leaving a 30-year relationship and relocating to Greece, I created a life and business that reflect who I am today – bold, curious, and committed to living my second act to the fullest.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
The biggest turning point in my life came after walking away from a long marriage and choosing to start over alone in a new country. I left behind financial comfort, security, and familiarity, and began rebuilding from scratch. It was terrifying, liberating, and one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Reinvention isn’t easy, especially after 50, but its always worth it.
What do people usually not know about you?
Most people assume I’ve always been confident and independent, but I actually lost myself for years in the role of caretaker, wife, and mother. Confidence wasn’t something I was born with – its something I’ve had to rebuild, step by step. Also: I speak 4 languages (and I’m learning Greek – wish me luck). I love weight training. I drink too many espressos. And I have 3 adult kids who are not only my greatest accomplishments – they’re also the biggest love of my life. Starting over is humbling, but its also where the magic begins.
What sets you apart from others?
I don’t sell travel – I create transformational experiences. Whether its a solo escape, a mother-daughter getaway, or a group celebration, I design trips that align with my clients’ dreams, not just their destinations. I also weave my personal reinvention story into everything I do – from one-on-one trip planning to the digital tools I’ve created to inspire women in their Second Act.
What are your upcoming major events?
This month I’m launching a series of digital products including a Vision Board Kit, Confidence Starter Pack, and Travel-Inspired Journals – all designed to help women 45+ get clear on their next chapter. And of course, I’m busy curating tailor-made travel experiences through Adventura by Kati – including special launch offers and VIP perks for my community.
What expert advice would you like to give?
It’s never too late to start over, and reinvention doesn’t mean changing who you are. It means remembering who you were before the world told you to shrink. Invest in experiences. Book the trip. Say yes to what excites you – even if it scares you. You’re allowed to take up space, pivot your path, and create a life that feels like yours again. I want to end this interview with my personal mantra: Jump and the net will appear. Thank you for having me.
