How do you introduce yourself?
Anything related to art I introduce myself as AVanM, it’s my tradename. Otherwise Angie.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I use to say growing up dirt poor. Most people don’t understand that white kids in the US also go without food and other basics. At some point in life we meet our actual demons, and those childhood notions don’t matter at all and if anything prepare us to face the real things we try to out run. My struggles my own errors and choices I’ve made that I can’t take back family and close friends dying, Trying to go forward people I trusted that abused and minimized my being.
What do people usually not know about you?
That I have 6 years of post highschool education, that I rode mx dirt bikes, trail and track for over a decade, I love all things farm, garden, canning. My husband says I’m intuitive and spontaneous that I will do a 180 on the spot. That I’m a traditional Pisces that I love being in the water… Yeah that’s a fact.
What sets you apart from others?
I try to portray who I actually am as an artist, I have no reverence or idols only respect and admiration for others. I’m working towards an unplanned goal that is a higher purpose for the remainder of my life. I’m not striving entirely for myself. I have faith that those steps will be revealed along the way.
What are your upcoming major events ?
Well I just missed the 2025 exhibit invite with the Van Gough Gallery at the Monaco Art Fair. I currently don’t have enough art, and am working on production. I have some mural work planned as well this year. I’m on the fence about the London art exhibition with Artists Talk magazine.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Believe in yourself and don’t let anyone put your soul in a box. Be versatile and willing to try new things, as an artist you need to push yourself (take advice from others who have successfully maneuvered your obstacles) Be kind.
