How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Moontina Petion Saint Cyr , I was born in Haiti . I was raised by a single mother of eight children. Seven girls and one boy. One of the best things gifted to me at a young age was growing up in a Christian household. I learned self value at a very young age which has allowed me to be the woman I am today. I am very bold, I love helping people, I have a very soft heart and my integrity is my best characteristic. I love family times especially going out with my sisters . I am a Praise Dancer / Choreographer, I am also a Runway Coach.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I remember when we were growing up , my single mother was not able to financially afford sending all of us to school at once. There were some semesters where we had to take turn. It was so hard , there were days I would just silently cry because I just wanted to be at school. In addition ,there were times during the summer when she had to split us and send us to some of her friends house so that we were able to eat. In July, 2000 was able come to move to America and became a US citizen in FL . It was hard to seper to an answer my mom’s prayer and three of us were able to come to America and have been working hard ever since . I hold a Double Major in Sociology and Women and Gender Studios. One of the many things that hurt me really bad was in August 2005 when school opened and I was so excited to be back in school because I missed so many days. Just within the first month, I was called to the principal office to be sent back home because my school fees were behind in payments. That day I walked all the way home with shame and tears running down my cheeks . That was the last time I stepped feet in school in Haiti . In 2010, my mom was able to come to America , it was hard to separate from her knowing jay she was our source In September, 2005 God was able to an answer my mom’s prayer and three of us were able to come to America and have been working hard ever since . I hold a Double Major in Sociology and Women and Gender Studios. I have worked in different fields such as the medical field as a Nurse Aide , I have visited different homes where I was able to provide price aid which have been life changing. I’ve met the most successful yet humble people and my favorite woman I met was 106. I am currently a Preschool Teacher and hold a Director License. My plan is to have my own Day Care one day.
What do people usually not know about you?
People usually think that I have everything going right for me because I am always encouraging others even during my own storms.
What sets you apart from others?
I am a very open person yet I can be both an introvert and extrovert. One of the things that I always tell others and myself is that whatever I go through in life , no matter how dark my days may seem , no matter how week I am to face any situation that comes my way I always remind myself and others that some other people have it worst .
What are your upcoming major events ?
I love women gathering and conferences, I held my very first Women conference this year March 2025 entitled Dining with Purpose which was a successful and o plan to continue annually. I plan to relaunch my Modeling Coach Program MoonWalkAdemy. I plan to travel and go on tours to teach classes and help young women learn about self values because for me modeling is not just about a beautiful walk on the runway.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Never be afraid of taking in chances and if you fail try again. Don’t be afraid to do it because you are afraid who is going to show up.
