Dr. Chalice C. Rhodes As Cover Story Interview – July 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Dr. Chalice C. Rhodes—a Licensed, Nationally Certified, and Board-Certified Trauma and Christian Counselor serving clients across Georgia, Florida, Delaware, and New Jersey. I am the author of the Amazon #1 Top New Release in Children, Teens, and Adult Christian Education workbook, The Wellness Path: Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Soul with Faith and Practice®, and the visionary founder of The Wellness Path Collaborative®—a holistic wellness movement rooted in faith, psychology, and healing justice.
Through The Wellness Path® initiative, I lead transformative healing experiences such as The Wellness Path Group Therapy Collective®, an immersive group therapy experience, and The Living Water Women’s Wellness Retreat®, a soul-renewing gathering designed to restore the mind, body, and spirit.
With over 27 years of integrated experience in human services, professional counseling, and higher education, my life’s work is centered on helping people overcome trauma, embrace authenticity, and walk boldly in their God-given wholeness.
In addition to counseling, I serve as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) consultant—bridging psychology and spirituality, public health, personal transformation, and justice. I’m deeply committed to centering Black voices, breaking intergenerational cycles of trauma, and advancing mental health equity through a powerful combination of clinical expertise and lived experience.
I also extend my impact through my talk show, Talk the Wellness Tea with Dr. Chalice®, where I explore stories of mental, physical, and spiritual wellness from a culturally responsive, biblically grounded lens. You can tune in on YouTube and all major podcast platforms.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
My journey has been marked by both personal and professional trials. I’ve overcome narcissistic abuse, confronted systemic injustice, and, most recently, battled breast cancer—twice. The second diagnosis requires a full mastectomy. These experiences have deepened my empathy, sharpened my spiritual discernment, and strengthened my calling to serve others with authenticity and compassion. Through it all, God has truly turned my pain into purpose.
What do people usually not know about you?
People often don’t know that I am a prayer warrior who worships God in Spirit and in truth—not just through words, but through dance ministry, singing praises, and the consistent practice of spiritual disciplines. I’m also committed to ongoing spiritual and professional growth through continuing education. I carry a deep prophetic and teaching anointing, which I’ve used to minister powerfully in both sacred and secular spaces. I’m a passionate mother of two incredible young men, whom I love deeply, and a fierce believer in divine timing, joy-filled laughter, and leaving a legacy rooted in faith and purpose.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to healing—I treat the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. With over 27 years of integrated experience in human services, higher education, and professional counseling, I’ve developed a unique blueprint called The Wellness Path®, which brings together scripture, psychology, and spiritual practice. I don’t just talk about healing, health justice, and wholeness—I live it. I also carry both a prophetic voice and academic credibility, which empower me to lead with authority, empathy, and impact—from the church pulpit to the university podium, to community platforms and corporate spaces.
What are your upcoming major events?
I’m honored to lead several transformational experiences that nurture mind, body, and spirit:

An immersive group therapy experience rooted in trauma-informed care, psychological healing, and spiritual renewal. - Season 3 of Talk The Wellness Tea with Dr. Chalice® – Launching Winter 2025
New episodes launch this winter, featuring powerful testimonies, expert insights, and biblically grounded conversations around mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Wholeness is your birthright—not a luxury. Healing is absolutely possible, but it requires a willingness to do the inner work. Lasting change starts within and radiates outward to impact others. Prioritize your mental and physical health just as much as your spiritual well-being. Boundaries are holy. Rest is revolutionary. And don’t be afraid to walk the narrow path toward wholeness—that’s where peace and purpose reside.
True transformation happens through an embodied commitment to renewal, restoration, hope, peace, harmony, and vitality. Whether you’re an individual, community, or organization, sustainable healing requires intention, accountability, and a willingness to grow beyond what broke you. You were created to be whole.
