Jennifer Murphy “GoGirl” was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Jennifer.
How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Jennifer Murphy “GoGirl” and I’m the Superhero of spreading smiles. I’m a producer,
director, actress, YouTuber, singer/songwriter, speaker and philanthropist. I’m founder of GoGirl
Worldwide, a multimedia company I founded in 2008 to empower girls and women globally— everything
from motivational seminars, empowering program, “pink-carpet-parties, entertainment, music, as well as
GoGirl Worldwide Magazine.
What hardships did you face in your life?
After becoming a top ten finalist at Miss USA, I landed a spot as a contestant on “The Apprentice” with
Donald Trump on NBC. Although I didn’t win on the show, Trump still offered me amazing jobs. But I
had fallen in love with a man in Los Angeles and followed my heart to not only pursue this new romance,
but also to pursue a career in entertainment. Long story short, after a lot of glitz and glam and a big
Hollywood wedding (that was even televised on Access Hollywood) it didn’t take me long to realize it
won’t the life of my dreams after all. I was unhappy in the marriage, felt lonely and lacked a true sense of
purpose. I spiraled into a deep depression. I realized I had to make some changes in my life— I had to
start over.
After leaving the marriage I ended up broke and feeling broken. Fortunately I took a course
by a guy named Kevin McCarthy called “The On-Purpose Person”. That course changed my life and
helped me see that my purpose was to “Ignite Joy”. It helped me get back to the person I really am, and I
rebuilt my confidence, health and finances. I had lost everything after the divorce, including my
properties I had owned for years in Oregon due to the crash in 2007. But I had learned by this point that
true happiness doesn’t come from material objects. After getting back to my happy-hearted self, I
decided to start GoGirl Worldwide in 2008.
What do people usually not know about yourself?
I’m a very open book, both in-person and in my social media content, but I would say that some people
are still very surprised when they learn that I’m second to the oldest of twelve children. My tiny little
mother Josephine had six girls and six boys! As one of the oldest, I always had a baby on my hip and
could probably win a diaper-changing competition to this very day. I love all of my siblings very much
and have such fond memories of growing up out in the country side, building tree forts, riding the pony,
riding in my Dad’s tractor bucket and playing all sorts of outdoor sports.
What sets you apart from the rest?
I was born with an innate love for taking risks. I’ve always asked myself “what would I do if I wasn’t
afraid”, and then I push my fear aside and go for it. I guess I’m a bit of an extremist. One of my
YouTube videos is called “How To Paraglide In A Barbie Jeep”. I actually took off in my toy Power
Wheels Jeep off the side of a mountain and flew and did crazy stunts at 2,500 feet in the air. That was
years ago, and I don’t think I could bring myself to do that today!
What are your upcoming events?
I recently produced and directed my first feature film, in which I’m also the writer, lead actress, set
designer, casting director, and even edited a big portion of the movie. I premiered it last June at the
Beverly Hills Fine Arts Theater, which was a dream come true. My movie is based on my viral hit song
and incorporates scripted with reality and some of my own true story. “I Want To Be Neenja! The
Movie” is out now on Prime, Tubi, Plex, Fawesome, Vimeo and on may own website
iWantToBeNeenja.com. I’m about to release a new song that I believe has to potential to go viral as well called “I Want To Be A Matador”. I’ll be releasing it on my YouTube Channel @JenniferMurphyGoGirl on Cinco De Mayo. (May 5th, 2025) My love for music and performing to live audiences is also leading me to various touring opportunities, including a tour in the Philippines. We’re putting the plan for that together over the upcoming weeks. I love the culture of that country and their love for family, music, food and faith.
What would be your Expert Advice?
My expert advice is to ask a true expert about a specific topic you want to excel in. And don’t try and
be a “Jack of all trades” because you’ll end up being a master of none. When I put on my GoGirl Empowerment Seminars I personally only do a portion of the training sessions.
I bring onto the stage other women and men who are experts in specific fields who cover areas like: Finance/Investing, Relationships, Health/Fitness, Artificial Intelligence, etc. I stick to my own categories where I feel experienced and talented: Marketing, YouTube & Influencer strategies, Acting, Making your goals a reality. And also I love to perform a goofy but uplifting song or comedic skit that sprinkles in positive messages and learning lessons. Remember to be yourself in life, and don’t compare yourself to others. You are unique and awesome.
