Alexa Lowery As Cover Story Interview – January 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I’m an actress, theater educator, and certified intimacy coordinator with a passion for storytelling that centers humanity, consent, and connection. I hold an MFA in Performance Pedagogy and work across stage, film, and education—supporting artists in creating brave, ethical, and emotionally resonant work. At the heart of everything I do is a belief that storytelling can heal, challenge, and bring people closer to themselves and one another.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Like many artists, my path hasn’t been linear. I’ve navigated career uncertainty, living away from family, financial instability, living gig to gig, and the emotional toll of constantly reinventing myself in competitive industries. I’ve also experienced profound personal loss & trauma, which reshaped how I understand grief, resilience, and purpose. These hardships deepened my empathy and sharpened my commitment to creating spaces—onstage and off—where people feel safe, seen, and supported.

What do people usually not know about you?

People often don’t realize how disciplined and structured I am behind the scenes. While my work is creative and expressive, it’s grounded in pedagogy, clear systems, and intentional communication. I’m deeply invested in process—how we get somewhere matters just as much as the final product.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

What sets me apart is the intersection of my skill sets: I’m equally fluent in performance, education, and intimacy coordination. I understand the emotional, physical, and pedagogical needs of artists because I’ve lived them. I lead with consent, clarity, and compassion—without sacrificing excellence. In life, I bring that same integrity: I show up prepared, emotionally intelligent, and committed to growth.

What are your upcoming major events – unforgettable moments or products/services that you want to promote or inform people about?

I just landed a new job working at Heidelberg University as an Enrollment Counselor and Adjunct Theater Professor. I’m also currently rehearsing to be ‘Wiley’ (an advocate & lawyer) in the play “Radium Girls”. I’m still repped by Professionally Pretty and submit for commercial & film gigs as well. I plan to continue to expand my work as an intimacy coordinator for both theater and film, including short-form digital projects and university productions. I’m also growing my presence as a theater educator and coach. I have several exciting collaborations currently in development.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Your body, boundaries, and voice are not obstacles to your success—they are your greatest assets. Learn to advocate for yourself with clarity and kindness. Sustainable careers are built on trust, communication, and self-respect, not burnout or silence. Protect your nervous system as fiercely as you protect your craft.
